As I've been posting in the Admin-only shoutbox... I've had two ideas. - Turn SC into a comprehensive game site. Yes, we'll still have more glitch documentation, but it might be a good idea to have screenshots, walkthroughs, etc.. It might attract more visitors.
- Replace my old site with a new incarnation of SC and use a short-URL service to make a URL with "systemcrash" in it. (I don't care about my old site anyway)

Sounds great. I just modified your powers so you don't have any restrictions. I won't be around much, but I'll try to pop in every now and then to see how stuff's going. Do whatever you want. I'll come back in full force on May 23rd, but until then my life is just going to be a living hell. Exams, term papers, work, I was just in an auto accident today (not my fault), etc. etc. Any spare time I have is pretty much dedicated to WoW, but that's like a half hour every couple of weeks. =( But if you need to reach me, you can do so by any of the following: AIM - SamTheAlbino (I'm on 24/7) GoogleTalk - GlitchgamerX and I frequent this board everyday - bonscottrul.proboards21.com/index.cgi?

Just started working on a new layout. And I have a logo! It's a font I stumbled upon when messing with some hand-pixeled text: EDIT: Already got one of the layouts (layout for a game's index page) finished! EDIT: Oh, sh*t, I just read your post -- a car accident?!

My site has now been replaced. SC3 is still a little broken -- so far, only the Index page and the required layout files are up, but I'll work on getting more up.
Malvado, Franklint, if either of you want to be involved in the site, PM me for the passwords and instructions.

Dave, you pwn.
You're doing a fine job, so I'll just let you keep at it. I won't have much time anyway.

Working on a new section of the site, Articles. This section will be the basis for the Guides section, and it'll also contain articles on glitches. Article searching will be PHP-and-XML-based (whether or not this is bandwidth-efficient remains to be seen...)

Wow, what a great idea. More different content on the site should boost member numbers a lot.
I'm terrible at all things web-designing, so I think I'll leave it to you unless you'd like some specific help.
Also, have we okayed this with Dom?
Cheers, Franklint

Haven't seen him. If he comes by and doesn't approve of it, then I'll stop working on it.

My guess is he'll be all for it. I'm sure he doesn't want to see the site fall into obscurity either.

Also, I just thought that I'd be very happy to help get all the glitches from the old site onto your pyroboy site, Dave. That seems to require limited html coding, and I can pretty much just copy what you've done with links to other games. I can at least give it a go. Send me over some instructions/passwords/etc. and I'll see what I can do.
If all else fails, I'd be happy to go through and fix up the spelling/grammar/punctuation, because I think to make ourselves seem like a class above the other sites, we should modify submissions so they're easier to read.
Personally, I think we should test every glitch/trick/cheat that comes in so we don't become like other sites with pages of fake submissions. With three testers, it should get done pretty quickly. Also, any games that I don't have (don't know about you guys), I should be able to test with emulation. If or when the site becomes huge, I suppose we should either employ a team of testers, or just let glitches/cheats/tips in without testing. I don't own any consoles between the N64 and the Wii/DS. The testing idea is all up to you guys.
I'm excited! I think this'll be great.
Cheers, Franklint

Oh, good as. A couple more things. Firstly, I can mirror the movies on my FileDen account, but it's like 5gb of bandwidth every month, so won't be much good if the site becomes massive. Secondly, The Center for Glitch Studies' creator has set up what looks like becoming an amazing glitch site. It's a wiki at www.editthis.info/glitches/Main_Page . I recommend we get ourselves added to the "Glitch links" page. Cheers, Franklint

Good ideas. I'll PM you the details, Franklint. I might set up some JavaScript-based tools on the site to make editing easier.
When you say "mirror", do you mean "keep a backup in case they begin to use up too much bandwidth" or "just upload them here"? Because things have been going pretty well uploading the movies directly to the site.

Thanks man. Again, I can't promise anything, but I'll see if I can edit the site well enough to add content.
In terms of mirroring the movies, I was really talking about either of those options. If the site has enough bandwidth, then it's much easier to continue hosting the movies on there. I've got my FileDen account available if you need it though.
Also, once we've more or less finished adding content to the new site, I'm going to register a .com, .net or .org address for us and fund it myself. If we want to become well-known we need some cool top-level domain.
Cheers, Franklint
