When playing many different games I have noticed one particular glitch. It occurs in any format and any game. I have called it the "box" glitch because it involves any box-like object in the game. When standing on such an object, move the character to the edge of it. Slowly but surly move him forward over the of the box and he will not fall off . Continue moving and you may get the character right off the box. This may not be very helpful to many but it is quite a funny thing to play with and may give you that little bit less distance to jump when simply roaming. Have fun-Albake.

Haha, cheers Al.
Thanks for the glitch submission! Indeed I have noticed this in several games, but you are the first (as far as I know) to document it and think of some possible uses.
See you tomorrow:-)

Holy shit..I've never noticed this topic until just this moment. =P That's 'NGame' if I remember correctly..or something to that effect. I myself have played that game a great deal and have never come across this, so kudos to you! I think that one of the more notable uses of this glitch is in Super Mario Bros. to access world '-1', as seen here:

Haha. It's annoying when you just completely miss stuff until later on. Anyway, it's all good.
The game is known to me as "N" (http://www.harveycartel.org/metanet/n.html), and is played lots and lots by my peer-group at school. It is extremely addicting. If you hadn't already played it, I would have recommended it to you.
Of course, The minus world, one of the (if not the) most famous glitch(es) in video game history! I was absolutely amazed at how easy it was to pull off. When I first attempted, I assumed it required pixel- and frame-perfect precision. But then, when I tried it, I found it reasonably easily achievable, which was a huge boost.
Thanks heaps for the high quality screenshots. They will help much when I am explaining the glitch to others.
...Still trying to find a video camera/DVD recorder to capture some footage of some glitches I'm hoping to post. Will submit them ASAP.
Cheers, Franklint

Ah, that glitch. It can happen in any game in which (3D) the collision bubbles are not as perfect as they should be or (2D) when the sprite masks aren't as exact as they should be. In the case of the Mario screenshots, the sprite masks (collision data) don't account for the fact that Mario's only standing on that pipe with half a foot.

Well, what really happens is that the game thinks Mario is standing on the floor, when he really is standing on the side of the wall. So he stands up, and with his head in the wall, the game goes "uh-oh, he's stuck. Better move him to the right".
