The New System Crash TOS
I. Creating an account
- So, you want to become a member of the System Crash Forums, eh? Well, that's simple enough. Merely fill out the Registration Form, which is found here.
- While creating an account, please make sure that your username does not contain words that may offend other users. If any administrator feels that the name is inappropriate, it may result in a suspension or a ban.
- Please only create an account if you actually intend on being an avid poster. The original System Crash had about 150 members, yet only seven of them actually posted.
II. Posting
Okay, so now that you're all signed up and everything, you'll probably want to start posting. That's great, but lets first go over what is allowed as opposed to what isn't.
- If you plan on being an avid poster, make sure that what you're posting is relevant to what the topic is about. I don't mind if your message only consists of 'lol' or something like that, but if the topic is about glitches in Super Mario 64, and you post something about how much you like bacon...well.. that'd just be stupid.
- Spam WILL NOT be tolerated. Anything that any administrator interprets as spam will result in a punishment. This includes advertising your website (there's a place for that in your profile), senseless posts that don't pertain to the current topic, etc.
- No exploiting of scripts, attempting to hack any accounts or asking for mods or admins' passwords.
- Swearing is allowed here, as long as the main vowel is asterisked out. For example, instead of saying "Fuck you, Glitch Gamer!", say "F*ck you, sir!" And try not to make a habit of it. If an administrator thinks that your post is too obscene, it will be deleted, and you will be punished.
- I think that it goes without saying that any posting of pornographic images/links will result in an I.P. ban. There is no way around this, so just don't do it.
- Don't bully people. In addition, absolutely NO flaming will be tolerated. This is mostly covered by "only relevant posts" and "no swearing", but just in case there's any confusion, any nasty comments directed at members will not be tolerated. If you must have an argument with someone, please keep it to PMs. This community is for intelligent and friendly discussion.
- Please attempt to use at least understandable and cohesive English. While we don't approve of "spelling nazi"s (people who go around correcting others' language usage), no one wants to be confronted with a whole lot of crazy text that is a challenge just to get the meaning out of.
- Have fun! Remember that all of these rules are just to help with the comfort of all the members here at System Crash. I value every good post here and want to make sure that no one feels uncomfortable or scared to post in case they break a rule. The admins are humans just like you and are not ban-happy. If you ever have a problem, don't be afraid to chat to one of us via a PM and we'll try to sort it out. Likewise, if you aren't sure whether a particular post would be appropriate, ask one of us and we'll verify it for you.
III. Advertising
Hopefully, after hanging around for a while, you will decide that you'd like to tell others about the forum. If so, please follow the rules below:
- Only advertise the forum to people who you think would be interested. For example, it would not be wise to tell "The Anti-Glitch Society" about this forum.
- Make sure not to break any other forums' rules if you are advertising System Crash there. Usually links in a signature are allowed, but if they are not (read the rules of the forum first) then do not put one there. Most forums do not like threads created to advertise a site, and even if they do, this is usually considered a bit suss. Please refrain from doing that.
- As a general tip, forums with smaller communities are usually better, because they often have a lot less spam bots and evil lurkers.
- Do NOT advertise with e-mail spam, malicious scripts, pop-ups, etc. This does not help The NEW System Crash get a good reputation for being a nice, friendly community. Instead, it makes people think that we condone this sort of behaviour.
- As for advertising other sites here, you can advertise in your signature, otherwise, please don't post links to your site unless they are relevant to the post or topic of discussion.
IV. Glitch Submission
As this forum is primarily based around glitches in video games, please follow these guidelines when submitting glitches to the forum:
- Be clear. This means NOT using floccinaucinihilipilificatious words. Be sure to outline the title of the glitch, the game's name, what system it is on, what area the glitch can be performed in (if applicable) and what character must be used in order to execute the glitch (if applicable). Also include any other helpful details. Also consider using paragraphs in your writing, as this makes it easier to read.
- Ironically, the word "floccinaucinihilipilificatious" is in fact floccinaucinihilipilificatious.
This may be added to every now and then; I suggest checking it about once a month.
